This course is designed to provide participants with material, instruction, real-world examples, and hands-on. Students will gain solid proficiency in how to read and interpret a structured or unstructured clinical document. Additionally, they build proficiency to use CDA implementation guides in order to build inbound CDA processors or alternatively design an outbound CDA generator. Participants will learn how to differentiate between structured documents and non-structured documents. During the class, instructor will lead participants in an in-depth walk-through of the end-to-end CDA model. Participants will learn how to interpret all the components and building blocks of the CDA model. The students will master skills to write conformance specification, and develop productivity tools to capture or present requirements, develop test scenarios and cases, and localize or constrain clinical documents using OIDs, terminologies, and nomenclature. Participants will also learn techniques to plan for implementation projects such as developing work-breakdown-structures, estimating work activities, and negotiating with integrating parties. At the end of this course the participants will be in solid foundation to participate in the certification program.
